Southpoint hotel question

How are the guest rooms at the Southpoint?

Are the showers nice with plenty of hot water?

And how about the water pressure?

Does the hotel have a shuttle to the strip?

And how much is the high speed internet charge in the hotel rooms?

Southpoint hotel question

Hi

When we stayed there a couple of years back the rooms were lovely and the showers great. Didn%26#39;t use the internet so don%26#39;t know the price. They do have a shuttle to the strip but we had a car so never used it.

Southpoint hotel question

We stayed there last year and are stating there again in 2 weeks. The rooms are very nice. They are good in size and very clean. The bathrooms are nice as well. The water pressure was fine and there was never a problem with hot water. There is a free shuttle to the strip, but we always have a rental car so we did not use it. I did use the internet which I believe was $20 for 24 hours. I cannot be sure of this because it was a year ago.

Personally, we love the place. The casino has high ceilings, it is well lit and did not seem smokiest in the least. The comp drinks were top shelf. A friend of ours was drinking Patron during our stay there. It was the only casino that would give it to him comped.

Folks, quit wasting water in Vegas hotels, you are IN THE DESERT. Hate to break the news, but high water pressure does not get you clean, rubbing on soap with a washcloth does. A trickle, even powered just by gravity, can rinse you clean.

Save more,just go for swim,lol

I stayed at South Point during october last year, I found south point better than the strip hotels.

Southpoints rooms were bigger, newer, super clean and the shower was good too.

I didn%26#39;t use the internet so I can%26#39;t tell you the price.

the hotel shuttle was free and drove back and forth to the strip usually every 30 mins they also had the trolley... They also have a free shuttle from the airport you just need to book it via the southpoint website.

I would highly recommend southpoint if you don%26#39;t mind not being on the strip.

Large clean rooms.

POlenty of hot water, good pressure.

Shuttle to MB

Recently stayed at Southpoint in mid August. Yes to the water pressure on the 12th floor...plenty of it, no problems, hot also. Yes to the shuttle....but check on the last return time, I think it%26#39;s like midnight or something. Can%26#39;t recall the $$ for internet...like 12.99 or 14.99 for 24 hours.

IMO...Southpoint over Orleans.

Just wondering if anyone has stayed at the new resort yet! Grand opening is slated for Nov 1/08, but apparently people have already been staying there. We are booked Nov 5- 10th! Heard it%26#39;s about a 5 minute walk to the strip...is this true? Any comments would be helpful! Can%26#39;t wait to be back in Vegas!

Whats the number to call for reservations?

    New Summer Bay Desert Resort

    Never heard of it

Are all the casinos pretty even on handing out comps?

We will be staying at the Venetian this trip, and %26#39;were%26#39; going to gamble mostly at MGM-Mirage casinos, as that%26#39;s where we usually stay.

But in thinking, I was wondering if like we do at the MGM, we charge things to our room, will the Venetian take care of some of those charges at check out, like the MGM did for us?(we are not high, nor even medium rollers, and MGM still treats us pretty good)

Will the play be expected to be higher at the Venetian to get any comps?

What has been your experience with different hotels and comps?

Also does the Venetian have refrigerators(don%26#39;t care if I have to pay)

Are all the casinos pretty even on handing out comps?

No, they aren%26#39;t even on handing out comps. Venetian does look for more play than most of the other properties on the strip. If you are a slot player, you should be able to find some info on their website. For table play, it will be hard to find specifics in writing but I have heard that they look for at least $50 a hand. It may be still worthwhile to charge things from the room, though as that may help encourage bounceback offers.

As far as chains on the strip, Harrah%26#39;s is pretty good to slot players but you don%26#39;t see the returns until your return trip. MGM is better for table players but even then you should play at the casinos that match your bankroll. It doesn%26#39;t make sense to bet $10 a hand at the Bellagio, for example.

Are all the casinos pretty even on handing out comps?

You will have to play where you stay if you want any comps.

All of the hotels have refrigerators you just have to ask for one and yes they will probably charge you for it.

    no, they don%26#39;t.

since you have a specific question about club grzie, ask club grazie.

as with most clubs machine play is easy to determine and specific info is availabe.

table play is not as transparent a system, talk to the player%26#39;s club/a host when you arrive.

once you have the accurate info you can decide how to handle your gambling $$

This is too good to be true!

Brief synopsis, not a HET player until we were looking at going to LV for a few days in November. With the use of my TR card was able to receive 3 nights comped at IP. My thought process was if its free why not. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. However we normally gamble at Ameristar here in Chicago, but the gratuity Harrahs has shown we decided to utilize our entertainment dollars at the Harrahs in Joliet. This being said, last night I was extremely bored and utilizing the Harrahs site decided to look at what other offers were available. To my suprise after inputing my TR and companion TR , we were able to have three nights comped at Paris. Immediately contacted Paris to change our reservations and low and behold it was comped. The gentlemen on the phone could not have been nicer (Randy) and even upgraded our room for my Mom%26#39;s 70 birthday! With the loyalty Harrahs has shown during this economic downturn and entertainment dollars at a minimum Harrahs receives a thumbs up!

This is too good to be true!

    nice deal...you will enjoy Paris

This is too good to be true!

Thanks Sars, with trepidation we were looking forward to our trip. Now with the upgrade the anxiety is at a minimum

Congrats flpotts. We%26#39;ve been comped at the Paris the last 3 visits and again next month. Even though you were already upgraded to what I assume is a Premier room, I would suggest asking when you check in if there is any chance of being upgraded to a suite. Worked for us in Jan. I did use the $20 ';trick'; but don%26#39;t know if that made a difference or not. Was told by some people on this forum that we would%26#39;ve recieved the upgrade just by asking since the suite (Lemans) was available.

I think (not 100% sure) all Premier rooms come with a view of the fountains. Our view from the Lemans Suite was of a roof top.

i stayrf one night in paris on my way to my frinds in kc.it was awesome.i used to stay at ip and there is absoultly no comparison ..you will LOVE it.

We were comped 4 nights at Harrahs, but we kept checking to see if we could get Paris comped. Well one night we had 2 nights comped - I called and asked if we could exchange our 4 nights at Harrahs for 4 at Paris. She said we%26#39;d have to pay for two nights. Declined offer. Checked again a couple of days later and lo and behold 4 free nights at Paris. So off we go on Monday.

I totally agree that Harrah%26#39;s does treat their players well with comp rooms %26amp; food which is a nice feature. Lot better comp than other properties give. You will love Paris great rooms, friendly staff, near the center of the strip, connected to Bally%26#39;s, very comfy beds %26amp; lots of great choices in where to eat. It great when you can play at one property %26amp; receive comps at another even meals.

    Awesome! Take me with you!!!

After discussing with the group about the upgrade we are all very excited. With the proximity of the HET locations we would be silly to gamble or eat anywhere else. Would assume the dining choices at HET are sufficient for us. My motto is whether you eat steak or boloney when your full your full. Come on down TXgirl!!!!!!

    mirage pool

that looks fab!!!! how do you book one of those is it on

a daily basis or for the week? how much did it cost ?

    thanks

Call the concierge if you can afford one. Nothing better than sitting inside with the misters and fans on!

$250 per day. If booked far enough in advance, Mirage will let you have one of 4, I think. After that they put you on a waiting list, to be called the morning of the reservation. They take you in order of booking. (Depending on high rollers probably)

    Have fun at the Mirage!

ps, $250 is for weekdays. With the conversion rate that%26#39;s probably about 2 pounds isn%26#39;t it? LOL

ha ha good one that but its only £1.50 actually!!!LOL

    The great blue moon mystery

Just finished up a five day stay at Paris. while playing craps one night I overheard the guy next to me order a blue moon beer, one of my favorites, so the next night I order one- we dont have that says the waitress. Later that night I asked a different waitress who brought it to me. THroughout the trip, some waitresses would bring it and some would not, even when I said well I had one about an hour ago at this very table. Turns out that the beer taps at gustav%26#39;s bar, in the center of the casino, which is where they get their drinks, only have blue moon on the far side of the bar from the craps table. The last time I ordered it, the girl first says we don%26#39;t have it, when I told her I just had one from a different waitress, she then wants to see my players card, which is gold, not diamond or platinum, whereupon she says we don%26#39;t have it out here. Pisses me off a little, although I am not a high roller I spend what I consider to be a lot of money in that place, and it is not like I am asking for dom perignon.

    The great blue moon mystery

I have noticed that the beers will periodically switch from time to time.

I think is some sort of contractual thing but I have no real solid evidence of that.

It could be that they just made a switch and she honestly didnt know.

They have a lot on their plate and some will be better informed then others.

I have had customers tell me of what we are selling and I didnt know about it until they told me so its not too suprising.

Also for her to make a special trip would most lileky cost her time and time is money.

    ATV tours

Can anyone recommend a good tour company for atv tours in the desert. I have read some reviews and am not sure who to use.
