Top of the World-Stratosphere

I have been reading some reviews about Top of the World Restaurant at the Strat and it sounds terrific, though a bit spendy for us for dinner. Does anyone know what the lunch prices run and what time the lunch hours are? Lunch also would be better as my husband could wear his jeans at lunch as they state attire is casual and I would not be able to get him to dress up to eat dinner in Vegas - I can%26#39;t even get him to dress up (black jeans instead of blue jeans) here at home for anything! Also, has anyone gone and had drinks in the Romance Lounge - do you need to make reservations for this also in order to get the nice chairs by the windows? Thanks!

Gramsclp,

Have you tried a nice pair of blue jeans with a sport coat and crisp white shirt??

(Still comfy but looks nicer.)

I too have a hubby that would prefer not to dress up but will when needed.

Sorry can%26#39;t help with the restaurant questions..

Romance is very nice. You are not right next to window in lounge area. You don%26#39;t need to be. Go and enjoy.

And, no reservations for the lounge. The lounge is on the mezzanine level above the restaurant.

gramsclp: We just had lunch at the Top of the World last week (in-laws in town, had to play guide). At any rate, we made reservations a few days ahead, but not sure if they were really necessary since there weren%26#39;t that many folks up there. But, like anything in Vegas, it%26#39;s a crap shoot, so reservations are ';recommended';.

Since the restaurant revolves, it takes about an hour or so to get the whole 360 degree ';tour';.

The prices are actually not that bad considering the view, the service, and the food. In fact, I%26#39;d say that the pricing was a bit less than you would probably pay at other, similar ';gourmet'; restaurants on the Strip.

We were quite comfortable in shorts and tees. Our waitress Patty was great on service, but a bit of a ';chatty cathy'; for our taste (if you get her, be suspect of any of her Vegas ';facts'; --- she was interesting, but wrong).

Hope you have a great time. We did.

We didn%26#39;t have res for lunch. I thought it was in the $20 range. Enjoyable.

TOW Terrific? You need to get a grip on relaity. There are much better places to eat for a lot less expense. All you get at TOW is a view.

We%26#39;ve been to TOTW several times for dinner at sunset. To us, it%26#39;s the most impressive sight in all of Vegas.

The food is very good - not excellent, but very good.

The prices are cheaper than Wynn, but more than the Flamingo.

I wouldn%26#39;t waste my time on lunch there. The view just isn%26#39;t the same. No lights. No sunset.

When we%26#39;ve had dinner there, I%26#39;ve seen men who were not dressed up. I%26#39;m sure your husband would be able to wear his black jeans and a nice sport shirt. They just don%26#39;t want flip flops, cut-off jeans, and tank tops.

Make sure you book reservations for about a half hour before sunset. It takes an hour and a half to get through the meal and to enjoy the view in 360 degrees.
