25th Birthday

I%26#39;ve been searching through and reading past threads on this topic, and have a lot of good suggestions. Three of us first-timers are heading to Vegas Dec 26 2008 - Jan 2 2009. The trip is mainly for my brother%26#39;s 25th birthday. I%26#39;m 28, and our third friend is 31. We can be on the loud and rowdy side [nothing violent, we are civilized but prefer to let loose and have fun! ;) ], and we%26#39;re trying to come up with some specific options for his birthday dinner. Obviously, an upscale restaurant is out for us, and none of us is really a fan of waiting in a line for who knows how long and paying $25 to get into a club. Based on research, suggestions from other threads on here, and our own personalities, I%26#39;ve got a partial restaurant list of options. I%26#39;ve crossed out Dick%26#39;s Last Resort because even playful insulting isn%26#39;t great dinner fare for me. ;) It seems like the only ones I%26#39;m able to come up with are more or less chains that we want to hit [Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock, Harley Davidson Cafe, NASCAR Cafe, Toby Keith%26#39;s I Love This Bar %26amp; Grill], but I don%26#39;t know if it%26#39;s going to be a necessarily ';Vegas'; experience for a birthday. I want something totally unique that makes him remember, ';I spent my 25th in Vegas.';

HELP!! :)

25th Birthday

we need a price range and type of food you don/don%26#39;t want

why is it ';obvious'; an upscale restaurant is out?

the chains you mentioned are fine, basic chains you get at all the locations.

You might prefer Mr. Lucky%26#39;s inside the hard rock hotel rather than the cafe (in the parking lot) it is not a chain, has a good vibe and great people watching. AYCE prime rib after 4pm for $10 and a 24/7 steak and shrimp special for $7.77. ask to sit at a table directly overlooking the casino for people watching

25th Birthday

December 30th %26amp; 31st are going to be VERY EXPENSIVE for room rates, and many restaurants will be booked or very crowded.

Some places to check out for a moderately priced LV experiance: Binions Steakhouse, Prime Rib Loft at Orleans, Cortez Room at Gold Coast. And a chain you didn%26#39;t mention, Margaritaville.

You might want to check out the Peppermill - it%26#39;s very ';Vegas'; the food isn%26#39;t great but the atmosphere is one of a kind.

I would suggest visiting Carnival Court one night for a drink and visiting the Voodoo Lounge for the view and a drink.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts!

I mentioned an upscale place for his birthday being out because we%26#39;re not looking for a quiet meal, we want someplace to celebrate with other patrons.

Price wasn%26#39;t something we were going to worry about off the bat. It%26#39;s our first time in Vegas, and we know it won%26#39;t be our last [heck, the boys are talking about not coming home already!], so we%26#39;ll worry about price once we get some ideas of where we want to go. We actually booked our rooms at TI in July and got locked in at $180/night (including NYE and NYD), so we lucked out on that.

Mr. Lucky%26#39;s sounds great, my brother loves prime rib and I can%26#39;t go wrong with steak and shrimp. People watching is one of my favorite pasttimes. I had forgotten about Margaritaville, that%26#39;s definitely an option. We%26#39;re going to look into Binions, Cortez Room, Carnival Court %26amp; the Peppermill. Thanks again everyone!
