Hotels

A group of friends want to go to Vegas January 11 for 4 nights for a 40th birthday surprise and need advise on hotels regarding the location and which one has the nicer/newer rooms. We have been looking at the MGM, Mirage %26amp; Planet Hollywood....any suggestions for me? Thanks. :~)

Before you go any further you should be aware that CES (one of the year%26#39;s biggest conventions) takes place January 8-11 and hotel rates will be extremely high then. I know it%26#39;s not easy when a birthday%26#39;s involved but putting your trip back 24-48 hours could save you a lot.

Of the hotels you%26#39;ve listed, I would pick Planet Hollywood first and then the Mirage b/c of their central locations. We just got back from Vegas last week and satyed at the MGM. They have the best pool(that might not be open in January) and a monorail staion, so it%26#39;s easy to travel quickly up and down the Strip(however it is not cheap).

Thanks for the information but if we arrive on January 11 (Sunday afternoon) will it still be busy of the convention or will most people be on their way home?

How do the rooms at the MGM, Mirage %26amp; Planet Hollywood compare?

I am 42 and I felt really old when I stayed at PH, how about Paris or Mandalay Bay, or Four Seasons-

The Four Seasons has a deal stay 2 nights and get the third night free.

I would love to have a friend take me to the Four Seasons for my Bday. Thier service is great and once you stay there you will never stay anywhere else in LV.

My husband and I are 38 and did not feel old when we stayed at PH last year. We loved it. Great energy, atmosphere and cocktail service.

I would pick PH due to the location, the casino and the dining choices available there and in Miracle Mile. We stayed at PH twice last year and did not get a remodeled room either time. We were happy with the room as it was large, clean and did not look in need for a remodel. The bathroom is large with a soaking tub.

I haven%26#39;t stayed at Mirage but the remodeled rooms look very nice. Their are complaints that the bathrooms are very small.

We%26#39;ve stayed at MGM and liked it. The room was nice but the bathroom was small. The location is a little too south for us as we prefer mid-strip.

I don%26#39;t think that you could go wrong with any of your choices as all of them are nice properties.
