We are heading mid-October to MGM. We are all 40+ (but doin%26#39; pretty darn good for 40!). We are hoping we%26#39;ll get in some pool time during the day (and then a good nap!) and then out for some good food and clubbing. Can anyone suggest good places to eat (that won%26#39;t cost a fortune) near the MGM? What about nightlife? We can always hop a cab, of course, but hear that MGM is so big that I%26#39;m sure there must be some things in our own hotel. Any good recommendations? Should we be making reservations ahead of time?

In the MGM they have a food court, but I think the STudio Cafe (24 hour cafe) is far better and the prices are not too bad. There are a few clubs in the MGM, I have been to Studio 54, it was tons of fun!

How much per person do you want to spend on dinner? There are wonderful restaurants such as Craftsteak, Emeril%26#39;s Fishhouse and Pearl onsite but they will run over $50 per person without drinks.
For clubbing, I think that Studio 54 might be too young. I%26#39;m in my late 30%26#39;s and I would feel too old at Studio 54 and especially at Tabu. (We%26#39;ve seen the lines of people waiting to get in to those clubs, so I%26#39;ve based my opinion on that and not on actually being in the club.)
I would suggest getting a cab and going to Voodoo Lounge in the Rio. Also, check out Carnival Court for a few drinks and the flair bartenders.
I always check the schedule at House of Blues being going to Vegas to see what%26#39;s going on there as the crowd is not made up of just 21 year olds.
go to margarittaville go around 6pm or later, they have a little floor show. I like their pulled pork sandwich and their nachos are huge, good margarita%26#39;s and their landshark beer is good.
In NYNY GonzalezyGonzalez has good mexican food, good service. Prices are very reasonable and their dinners are big enough for 2 people to share.
The lunch buffet at Planet Hollywood is a good deal since your tea, sodas and deserts are included.
You can have them make a fresh to order pizza- it is huge, very good.
Try the Burger Bar upstairs in MB in the MB place, 1/2 pd burgers can split one with a side of O rings with someone.
Burger Brassier in Paris, has a really good cobb salad, very fresh, enough for 2 people.
All the places I have mentioned are all sit down, good service and really resonable prices. I do not eat at expensive or really fancy places.
you will have a blast. i recommend walking to nyny for their pizza, studio cafe, emeril%26#39;s or craftsteak at mgm,
go to olive%26#39;s at bellagio
joe%26#39;s stone crab at caesar%26#39;s, amazing.
you cant go wrong at capital grille or maggiano%26#39;
s, but they are chains
also love canaletto%26#39;s at venetian.
read my trip report(12 women at mgm just returned) for more ideas on clubs, etc. when in oct?
hey Joey what steak is really good at the Capital Grille? I am hoping they will be open over Thanksgiving, want to go there for a late lunch that day.
Thanks to all for the **quick** replies--holy crap, I just posted!!
Anyways, I read most of your trip details, Joeybagz--it sounds like you had a great time! I%26#39;m definitely going to try the restaurant in the Venetian. Do we need reservations?
It sounds like there are lineups for every club with pricey covers. But it also sounds like ladies can talk their way in or that coupons are available. Any suggestions as to where to get coupons? Meanwhile, we all look pretty hot (!!!) for our 40+ ages so hopefully we will be able to avoid some long lineups with some fancy clothes and sparkly smiles!
