hush puppies

Hello all

i have tried hush puppies while i have been in the US before and loved them (we don%26#39;t get them here in the UK)

Can anyone please tell me if there is anywhere on the strip that serves hush puppies. (i know there is a restaurant called %26#39;hush puppy%26#39; off strip but just wanted to know if there is anywhere else)

Dawn, your best bet is probably a restaurant that serves Southern cuisine. I haven%26#39;t heard of one in Vegas, but I%26#39;m sure they exist. I%26#39;d try a google search.

Hush puppies are most often served with fried seafood, at least in the south. This is the story of how they got their name as it was told to me...

A fisherman was frying up some freshly caught catfish and his hound was howling at the smell of it. He took some of the batter he was frying them in and dropped it in the hot grease. When it was done, he threw it to the dog and said, ';Here! Now, hush puppy!';

I don%26#39;t remember specifically seeing them on the buffet table, because it is not my first choice and don%26#39;t go looking for them, but you might try the Orleans or the Rio buffets.

I believe that they had Hush Puppies near the fried seafood at the Rio Buffet.

I thought you meant shoes too Dawn!! I was about to let you know of all the stockists here in the UK. Now you have me very curious about the edible version. Will have to look out for them.

Hi Dawn - just got back and tried them at Mandalay Bay dinner buffet. They were very nice!

Don%26#39;t bother going out to Louie%26#39;s Fish Shack for them,

NOT good food.

But the Yard House next door is worth a trip to the mall there. Yard house food is like a Light Group resturaunt, with an incredible beer selection.

Try an get there for happy hour to save big dollars.
