I am deciding between Southpoint Hotel or Orleans to stay at while in Vegas. Which is a better place to stay as far as comfort and amenities,Southpoint or

Orleans?

of those 2, southpoint would be my choice

Orleans opened in 1996 and has added two new towers. Newest rooms are 5 years old. South Coast (Used to be called SouthPoint) opened in 2005 or 2006 and has already started their new tower. If the price is te same, or even if the South Coast is $35 a night more expensive, I%26#39;d choose it over the Orleans.

JacksonMan, I was thinking of dropping in and getting on the radar at South Point and Orleans.

How did you find their selection of slot machines and the overall casino ambiance to be? Rate one over the other? I love to play all the newest bonus type slot games, and curious if which one might be more up to date with the latest and greatest games?

Restaurants about on the same quality and price level?

I have stayed at both casinos and think the Southpoint is much nicer. Both have a good selection of slots. The Orleans casino is dim, smokey, and just seems dingy. The Southpoint has a brighter casino, better drink service, and just seems cleaner to me. This goes for the rooms as well. I think the buffet is better. The deli was good and has excellent canoli%26#39;s, and Big Sur%26#39;s oyster bar, makes a terrific lobster grilled cheese sandwich, has nice salty fresh oysters and makes a mean oyster shooter. I also like the location better than the Orleans. We do have a rental car so that is a big factor. It is just off of 15. We made it form the Southpoint to the Strat in less than 10 mins. It also seemed we racked up comp points faster there too.

SO, as you can see, I LOVE the Southpoint. It has everything we look for in a hotel/casino.

I%26#39;d say stay at South Point. We always stay at the Orleans. On our last trip we stayed one night at South Point (to try it out) and 4 nights at the Orleans. The whole trip my husband kept saying how on our next trip he wants to stay at South Point. From now on we will be staying at South Point. We always have a car so it being away from the main part of the strip didn%26#39;t cause us any problems.

you actually have that the wrong way round as far as southpoint goes.

It used to be South coast part of the Boyd empire it%26#39;s now owmed by Michael Gaughan and has just opened it%26#39;s new tower this year.

Very good value resort.

They are both nice. Flip a coin. I like them both. What%26#39;s your preference? You won%26#39;t be disappointed either way. Again, flip a coin.

Southpoint is superior to Orleans. A better grade of people at Southpoint.
