Hi all my flights to vegas are finally out I have just noticed though that on the day we fly a wednesday there are no direct flights to vegas with BMI I feel sick we have paid so so much money to pre book and be on a direct flight and the direct flight does not exist on the day we have booked. To make matters worse the travel agent is not open today, help!!
not good news
I doubt there is much the travel agent can do to help you. If a direct flight was booked, how could you have done it when none were available for your day of travel?
not good news
that is what the travel agent booked so that as soon as the flights came out we would be on it but now that flight stops as chicago!
Who did you book with?
Did they tell you it was a direct flight and if they did and its not there then they are in the wrong.
You have a 24 hour cooling offf period where you can cancel without charge
I fly BMI on Sundays as its direct
Whats your dates
I booked it through co-op travel they told me it was direct I have provisional times for the date , I booked it in february though and we have paid more than half of it now I feel so angry and upset. Going on august 5th
I%26#39;m guessing by ';direct'; you mean non-stop. These are actually two different things when it comes to airline scheduling. A direct service will usually involve one or more stops.
BMI%26#39;s website clearly shows the days when it operates a non-stop service from Manchester (I presume this is where you%26#39;re flying from). On other days its service goes via Chicago. If you%26#39;ve booked a fare that allows cancellation without penalty or for a nominal amount then just do so and switch to a day when you can fly non-stop. If not then you%26#39;ll just have to fly via Chicago and remember to research your flights more thoroughly in the future.
I know this is true but I am so angry as that was the whole point in me booking it so early also all my family have now booked with a cheaper airline I just dont see why I should have to pay a penalty when the information I was told was clearly wrong
I agree with blagger. What exactly did you ask for and what were you told was booked? If it was a ';direct flight'; then you got what you asked for. Your flight is a direct flight. If you asked for a ';non-stop'; flight then the agency was wrong. Was your flight changed from a non-stop to a direct flight after you booked?
we asked for a direct flight with no stops on route. that is why we were advised to book so early to ensure we would get on the flight as apparently they sell out fast.
How much is a cancellation fee?
your post doesn%26#39;t make it clear exactly what your situation is - how can you book a flight that doesn%26#39;t exist? what is ';pre-book';? Either you have a confirmed res or not?
';...when the information I was told was clearly wrong...'; what do you have in writing? Not what you were told but what your written confirmation says?
Won%26#39;t help now, maybe next time don%26#39;t use a travel agent, or at least check the airlines websites before you do. No reason not to know what is happening with any trip - the internet is open 24/7.
this is the thing I went in to the travel agents yesterday to pay some money off and asked him if my flight times had been confirmed yet and he said they had not so I have provisonal times and the paperwork which all shows that the flight should be non stop, on looking on their website today to see if I could find the flight I noticed that they dont do a direct non stop flight on a wednesday
