All,
At the risk of beating a dead horse, we are going to Vegas Sept. 30th and I was wondering if the Wynn still had the deal with registering for their card and the free buffet. I know this has been discussed extensively but these specials do change every now and then so I was wondering if its still going on.
We are leaving in 9 days! Staying at the Bellagio! can%26#39;t wait. 4th trip in 3 years! We%26#39;re hooked!- To Vegas and TA.

wynn buffet trick-still on?
The old days of the relatively easy to get ';free'; buffets would appear to be a thing of the past.
The latest deal that I%26#39;m aware of for new sign ups for the Wynn Red Card was the one that involved spinning a wheel to earn various free play awards but, as you say, things can change on a daily basis so check with the Red Card desk when you sign up.
wynn buffet trick-still on?
When I was there in August, there was no %26#39;trick%26#39; involved.
Signing up for a Red Card...you get nothing.
Play and when your point balance hits 25 points (about $20 of play for me at a penny machine), you can spin the wheel at the Players Club desk. Prizes range from 2 buffets, 2 show tickets to free play ranging anywhere from $10 to the thousands of dollars. Most people won $10 free play. Luckily I won two buffets (approx $75 value). They had to be used within 48 hours...I think(?). I used them the next night and dinner was DELICIOUS!
Once your point balance hits 150, you then get the %26#39;two free buffets%26#39; (which again, didn%26#39;t take long...just a couple glasses of wine and a few $20 in the machine). These buffets are good to use anytime. Mine are waiting for me for my next trip!
So, if you play the slots anyways (I do!) it%26#39;s worth sitting at the WYNN to do it. I definitely wouldn%26#39;t recommend playing there if your only intention is to get the %26#39;free buffets%26#39; cause it might take a lot more money (and wine!) to get the points you need to do it.
Good luck and enjoy your trip!
If you are talking about points on VP, no. They figured it out. Now it takes lots of points to get a free buffet. Many casinos have a sign on the VP machine that says that the points don%26#39;t count on that machine.

Are you really talking about VP machines or the roulette machines. I think this is what salin was referring to (to get points). It was from another post when you did receive $10 free play and only needed 25 points for a buffet :
1. Go to a video roulette machine (they are on the south side of the casino if my memory serves).
2. Put $40 in the machine and activate your free play.
3. Bet $18 on black, $18 on red, and $1 on 0.
4. Repeat step 4 six more times.
5. No matter what happens, you will lose $1 per spin for all 7 spins, and will have $43 left in the machine. Cash out with your $3 profit and head to the players club to activate your buffet (you%26#39;ll have earned about 27 points and you only need 25).
But the machine was a routlette machine- not a Video Poker machine.
Sorry, Yes it was roulette(sp).
I thought I read in another post that now it takes 100-150 points for the meal.
Sorry my part-himers kicks in some times. I don%26#39;t have alls-himers yet.
I am here and have been using this trick all over....At the Hard Rock you only need 100 pts to get a 50 dollar gift card to AGO...I spent about 5 minutes and had the 100 pts and am planning on eating there this week....it looks awesome....most meals on menu are about 20-25 bucks so it should be a great meal! Video Roulette is a good way to pass the time (sit there and get drunk for little to no $) now if I can find the camels when I wake up from my nap that I am supposed to be taking. Planning on going to Wynn in next day or 2 and will post what happens there
When I was there last (in August) it took 150 points to get the buffet comp for a new card holder (considerably more for existing card holders.) 25 points gets you a ';spin'; on the wheel as already described. I don%26#39;t think the old promotion will be coming back, so the ';buffet trick'; using video roulette is a thing of the past.
We did it in June. They still had the free play but the amount of points you needed for the buffet increased. It ended up costing roughly $20-$30 to get 2 buffets.
